Aoraki Mt Cook National Park will always have a place in my heart. During my 4 years in New Zealand I visited the park at least 7 times. Each adventure was unique and provided me with a fresh perspective, not only in a photographic sense, but also in terms of personal growth. The friends made and conversations had around this mountain have really helped to put me on the path that I am on today.
This collection of photographs and videos are from my last trip to the park in December 2018. The conditions were unbelievable, and the crew that I went with was even better. We spent one night camping on a cliff edge near Mueller Hut, and spent the next night on the shores of Lake Pukaki. It was a weekend that I will never forget. It was also on this trip that I snapped one of my favorite photos I have ever taken; a shot of a kea in flight. Their intelligence, adaptability and curiosity have made them one of my favorite animals, and are part of the reason I have become so passionate about wildlife photography and conservation. Finally, for those of you who prefer motion pictures, I have included a video below at the bottom of this post that covers all of my previous trips to Mt Cook that you might enjoy watching.
Enjoy the collection.
